Fabrication & Welding Engineering Apprenticeship for Spencer

Success stories

Spencer Employed

Spencer, a graduate of our 2020 Licence Programme from Taupō-Nui-a-Tia College, is almost a year into his job at Central Plumbing and Sheet Metals.

After completing his 80 hours work experience and displaying the employability skills, he was offered full time work with CPS. He is really enjoying the whole workplace experience and thriving in the friendly supportive team environment.

“The best part of my job is the variety of work I get to do, ranging from plumbing, drain laying, sheet metal/light engineering and laser profile cutting. I enjoy working on new builds, rennovations and maintenance tasks, as well as the balance of the workshop tasks combined with getting out into the field to complete practical work.” – Spencer Allen

Not only has Spencer recently returned from a work trip to Christchurch he has also signed up for a 4 year apprenticeship in Fabrication and Welding Engineering and completed his first couple of papers. Spencer has said for anyone thinking about doing the Licence to Work Programme “Go for it! It has certainly helped me with a pathway and securing a great job.”

Congratulations Spencer on what you have achieved in a year – all your hard work is paying off.

Thanks to the team at CPS for your support and encouragement of our youth and the Taupō Pathways Licence to Work Programme.
